Maple Veneer samples

Description

4″x6″ veneer stain, dye, paint sample kit. Includes 4- 4″x6″ pieces of Maple veneer. Use these to test your stain, dye or paint prior to coloring your drum shell. You should first spray the test sample piece with distilled water, let dry and sand with 100 grit sandpaper prior to staining.The water will raise the grain of the wood. When it dries, you will feel wood fibers that have lifted from the wood surface. Sand these wood fibers with

100grit paper prior to applying stain or wood dye. If you skip this step, you risk having a blotchy finish in your stain. The same instructions should be followed prior to staining or dying your drum shell. Note: Never sand your drum shell smooth prior to raising the grain with water. Never sand with a grit higher than 100 grit after raising the wood grain. Save the fine sanding for your finishing.
