Refund and exchange policy

Fly by night drums strive to make every order an enjoyable one. We understand that mistakes can be made from time to time. Please review our simple return and exchange policy. If you do not agree with our policy, please do not purchase from this site.

Fly By Night Drums will allow refunds or exchanges on certain items only. If we send a part or product that was not what you ordered, we will refund to you the purchase price plus the shipping cost of that item once the item has been received. You must contact us in advance for an RMA for any return. An RMA stands for Return Material Authorization. This will include a number for our records. Please do not return anything to us without this RMA as no refund or exchange will be allowed without it.

No refunds or exchanges are allowed for drum shells, drumheads, drumsticks, or cymbals. No refund or exchange will be allowed on any item that cannot be verified as a new or unused item. This includes items such as microphones, mouth pieces, software, apparel, ear plugs, headphones and any personal equipment or product that meets a person or any biological material. 

Sorry, there are no exceptions to this policy. There are also no refunds or exchanges on custom drums or drum kits. Sorry, no exceptions.

Returns requested by the buyer will be charged a 10% restocking fee for items that were purchased in error of the buyer. Why do we charge a restocking fee? Well, we must pay for shipping to our facility from our vendors. We also must pay our employees to package, label and ship the product. There are also plenty of costs in packaging and shipping materials. With a 10% restocking fee, we are still not covering our costs when accepting returns. IMPORTANT: Returns must be in an unused condition and in their original packaging and ready for immediate resale. If your return is not in resalable condition with original packaging when it is received, then there will be no refund. The only option at this point is for us to re-charge you for shipping and send it back to you. Sorry, there are no exceptions to this policy.

Damaged items upon arrival policy:

Fly By Night Drums is not responsible for the products once they are in the hands of the shipping company. If you receive a product or products that were damaged during transport, please do the following:

  1. First inspect the shipping container for damage. If you see a damaged area on the carton or packaging, please take a few photos of the damaged container.
  1. Noting where the damage is located on the container or package, open the container to see if the damage from the container has reached the product. Note, often a box or container may have damage on the outside but did not transfer to the product inside.
  1. If you spot damage to the product inside, please take a few photos of this damage. The shipping company will want to see this photo as it relates to the damage to the container.
  1. Save all packaging boxes, containers and foam or pillow materials. The shipping company will want to see how the item was packed.

Failure to do the items above may result in the rejection of your insurance claim to the shipping company.
Fly by Night Drums will ensure shipments with the shipping company for the value of the box contents. In the unfortunate event of a damaged shipment, the shipping company will re-imburse you the cost of the damaged item or items. Shipping insurance is part of the cost of the shipping charges that the customer pays. There are no exceptions to our shipping insurance policy.

Currently, Fly by Night Drums does not allow for any in-person pickup. We are strictly an e-commerce business.
